No, I am not a banker, but I do read City A.M. almost every weekday morning. Why? Well, there are several very good reasons. First of all, it is free, and, unlike many other freebie papers, it is not grossly bulked out with full page ads for things you don't want or can't afford. Second, it is accessible, I live near a station and there is always a box there to obtain your copy. Third, it is, in my view, a very well edited newspaper: the reports are all very concise and factual, and where there is an opinion piece, this is clearly labelled; of course the predominant view is that of business/ finance but that is made clear, and alternative opinions are included in the op-eds. OK, I admit I like reading about business, so short reports on how various companies are doing interest me, but City A.M. also has a good standard of sports reporting, and, now and then, some good arts coverage. For 0p that seems to me like good value for money. You do have to live within the London catchment area to get it, but I would say, if you can get it, give it a try. To tempt you, I have added a picture of today's lively cover, and interesting day with business opinion, including City A.M.'s leading articles, moving mostly towards supporting Mrs May's Brexit deal, despite it's faults: they are craving some certainty - but, like a Boycott century, it may be some time coming!
